API 608 Metal Ball Valve Flanged Threaded Ends

1. If the purchaser needs a metal ball valve that deviates from this standard, the deviating requirements shall be specifically stated in the purchase order.
2. If no exceptions are to be taken to this standard, the purchase order need only refer to API Standard 608 and specify the items listed in 2.1 below. Optional items listed in 2.2 below may also be specified.

API 600 Bolted Bonnet Steel Gate Valves

The basic requirements and practices for flanged and butt-welding end steel gate valves of bolted bonnet construction which parallel those given in API 600, Tenth Edition. In order to maintain compatibility with the flanges defined in ISO 7005-1 and the flanges in ASME B16.5, valves have been designated to be PN-marked for the former and Class-marked for the latter. It is not the purpose of this International Standard to replace ISO 6002 or any other International Standard

API SPEC 6D Specification for Pipeline Valves. Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries-Pipeline Transportation Systems-Pipeline Valves.  ANSI/API STD 594 Check Valves: Flanged, Lug, Wafer and Butt-welding.
API 598 Valve Inspection and Testing. The standard covers inspection, supplementary examination, and pressure test requirements for both resilient-seated and metal-to-metal seated gate, globe, plug, ball, check, and butterfly valves.
